SBS2003 to SBS2011 migration issue

Exchange Issue

On the exchange 2010 server running on SBS2011 often generates the following event log error

Log Name:      Application

Source:        MSExchangeSA

Date:          2/17/2012 3:12:16 PM

Event ID:      9327

Task Category: (13)

Level:         Warning

Keywords:      Classic

User:          N/A

Computer:      Server.domain.local

Description:

OALGen skipped some entries in the offline address list '\Global Address List'.  To see which entries are affected, event logging for the OAL Generator must be set to at least medium.

- \Default Offline Address List

The error started generating after the SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 migration. The quick way to fix the issue was to edit the Site Folder Server attribute as show below:

  • Open Adsiedit.msc
  • Browse to Configuration, Services, Microsoft Exchange,  Address List Container, Offline Address Lists
  • Open properties of the Default Offline Address List on the right
  • Change siteFolderServer attribute to the DN of the correct Public Folder e.g.

We changed the CN folder name from

CN=Public Folder Store (SBS2003)\0ADEL:cb54b2cb-4cd3-4d4d-b12f-33bcb7dbffd3,CN=Deleted Objects,CN=Configuration,DC=Domain,DC=local

to

CN=Public Folder Database 1176283642,CN=Databases,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=Domain,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=Domain,DC=local
